This is educational, not a sale. The case checks, courses and tools on this site explain how a personal injury claim, a criminal charge, or a DUI stop generally works, and give you a general estimate to start from. Nothing on this site is an offer of representation, a quote for legal fees, a guarantee of any outcome, or legal advice.

What this actually is. TheLegal.Team is a lawyer matching and referral platform. It is not a law firm, not a substitute for hiring an attorney, and not a government agency, court, or bar association. Using this site, the case checks, the free membership, or the intake questions does not create an attorney-client relationship with TheLegal.Team or with anyone on its team.

Who stands behind it. Any legal advice or representation you receive comes from the independently licensed attorney you are matched with, who is solely responsible for that advice and for representing you. TheLegal.Team does not practice law and is not responsible for the advice, strategy, or outcome an attorney in our network provides.

How the numbers can vary. A personal injury estimate can move based on the severity of your injury, your medical bills, time missed from work, available insurance coverage, and how a claim is negotiated or litigated. A criminal case urgency score can move based on the charge level, custody status, and how your case proceeds through court. A DUI risk score can move based on your test result, prior offenses, and state-specific administrative and court procedures. In every case, how similar situations have gone before does not predict how yours will go.

Costs and fees. Using this site, checking your case, joining as a free member, and being matched with an attorney all cost nothing. Attorney fees are set by the attorney you work with, vary by practice area, and are explained to you before you agree to anything; for example, personal injury cases are often handled on a contingency basis, meaning a fee is owed only if you recover money, but fee structures differ by attorney and by state. TheLegal.Team does not set, collect, or hold attorney fees. When a match through our network results in representation, the attorney may pay TheLegal.Team a referral fee; this never increases what you pay.

Tax treatment. The tax treatment of any settlement, award, or payment you may receive depends on your specific circumstances and can change. TheLegal.Team does not provide tax advice; speak with a licensed tax professional about anything you may receive.

What we are and what we are not. We are a lawyer matching and referral service. We are not a law firm, a bar association, a court, a government agency, or an insurance company. For legal questions, talk to the attorney you are matched with; for tax questions, talk to a licensed tax professional; for anything else outside what this site does, we will point you to the right kind of licensed professional where we can.

The calculator's method and its limits. The personal injury estimator applies a general multiplier to your stated medical bills based on injury severity, and adds a general estimate for missed income based on the weeks you report. The criminal and DUI checks produce a 0-100 urgency or risk score from a handful of factors you enter; they are not a prediction of any sentence, plea, fine, or case outcome. All three exclude the specific facts, evidence, and law that only a licensed attorney reviewing your actual case can weigh. A real case value, plea outcome, or license decision will differ from any of these estimates and controls over them.

Licensing and where we can operate. TheLegal.Team connects people across the United States with independently licensed attorneys in its network; each attorney's license is issued and verified in their own state, not by this website. Lawyer referral services are regulated in some states, and TheLegal.Team's registration status in any given state should be confirmed with a licensed attorney before this site is relied upon there.
